The Scale for Assessing the Cognitive Demands of Flexible Work (CODE; Prem et al., 2021) is a questionnaire-based instrument available in German and English that measures four dimensions (structuring work tasks, planning working hours, planning work locations, coordinating with others), each comprising three items.
The Team Communication Scale (Hartner-Tiefenthaler et al., 2022) is a questionnaire-based tool for measuring behavioural aspects of team communication, covering focused communication, knowledge sharing and spontaneous communication. It is suitable for use in all contexts and for all teams (co-located, virtual, flexible), but particularly for flexible teams (teams in which employees can vary their working hours and location), as it captures aspects of communication that are relevant to today’s teamwork, which is characterised by a high degree of unpredictability. TCS can be used as a team development tool to identify areas for improvement in team communication. In total, the questionnaire comprises three 3-item scales and is available in German and English.
